Direct trains from Bucharest and Brașov, the drive on the DN13, the nearest airport and how to get from the station to the citadel.

How to get to Sighișoara by train, coach or car

Sighișoara lies on the Bucharest – Brașov – Cluj railway line and on the DN13 (E60) national road between Brașov and Târgu Mureș, so it is easy to reach by train or by car.

By train

  • From Bucharest North there are direct daily trains via Ploiești, Sinaia, Predeal and Brașov. The journey takes around 5.5–6 hours.
  • Trains to and from Cluj-Napoca and Oradea also stop in Sighișoara; from Cluj it takes almost 3 hours.
  • The Brașov – Sighișoara section is being modernised, so journey times may vary. Once finished, Brașov – Sighișoara should take about 50 minutes.
